Chef Bio

My name is Matthew Hall, I began my journey as a chef when I was fifteen. I enrolled in culinary classes at our local career center to start my training. During that time I catered events throughout the county, competed in several state competitions at The Greenbrier Resort, and started my first job at the Marriott Hotel. Soon after, I joined my mentor chef at Austyn’s restaurant in Marietta, Ohio.

Following high school I was accepted into The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. For two years I trained to become a professional chef, including an externship at Bridge Road Bistro in Charleston, WV. After graduation, I accepted the executive chef position at the second Austyn's Location in Ironton, Ohio. After working at several fine dining restaurants in Columbus, OH, I returned to college to earn a degree in Business/Management Technology while working at The Buckley House Restaurant in Marietta, OH.

Succeeding graduation I worked as an executive chef and assistant general manager at two restaurants in Charleston, WV.  After Returning to the Mid-Ohio Valley I married my beautiful wife Julia, and decided to fulfill my high school dream of opening my first business and finally working for myself.
